Petrichor has become a wildly popular fragrance choice. It is that smell of the world during or after the rain. It's that magical feeling during heavy rain after a long dry spell, and it's one of the most beautiful olfactive phenomena in nature.  There are many reasons for this, including the ozone in the air, the negative ions, but most importantly the release of oil secretions from certain plants, accumulated after a long dry period.  

Fun Fact - Humans can detect geosmin, the compound in the air responsible for the smell of rain, at a concentration of 5 parts per trillion which makes us 200,000x more sensitive to geosmin in the air than sharks are to blood in the water.
