Tilia by Marc-Antoine Barrois is a unisex Floral Woody Musk fragrance launched in 2024. The nose behind this fragrance is Quentin Bisch. Notes of Lime blossom, Broom, Jasmine Sambac, Vetiver, Heliotrope, Georgywood, and Ambrofix.
Simple. Solar. Smiling. It is the scent of everlasting summer. Of holidays that never end. Of long lazy lunches with friends, out in the countryside, around a big wooden table. Of flowers that just keep on blooming.
Tender verdancy, pollen, honey from the linden tree with its lovely heart-shaped leaves, an emblem of softness and flexibility for the Celts. The honeyed, apricot inflexions of broom. The tender powder of heliotrope. A bucolic bouquet made still richer with a sprig of velvety jasmine Sambac. Underlined, like a stroke of shade intensifying the radiance of an afternoon in the sun, by the smoky earthiness of vetiver...
Reviews of Tilia
Fragrantica - Very beautiful! Gentle, airy, clean. It gives me similar vibes to Walking On Via Fiori Oscuri Trussardi, but it is deeper and longer lasting, with a better trail. I really like it, it gives me freshness and purity. Perfect for spring. The linden quickly disappears and the yellow flowers and orange blossom remain. I am obsessed!
Fragrantica - I like wearing floral perfumes, even ones that may lean feminine. If it smells fantastic, I'll wear it. I get a little Ganymede from the heliotrope and really nice florals and musks. Adds another layer to the Ganymede DNA, and might even supplant that as my favorite Bisch fragrance from the house. Great longevity, great sillage and smells incredible!
Fragrantica - Sunshine bottled! Tilia is inspired by the Linden Tree and an imaginary star named Tilia that shines on happy days, and the scent beautifully captures the feeling of sunshine and joy. The opening is a bit sharp and reminds me of L'Interdit, but the dry-down reveals a gorgeous bouquet of honeyed yellow and white flowers laced with refreshing green and herbal undertones. It's feminine and soft, yet bold and seductive. A versatile perfume that can be worn in any season or occasion, and a perfect signature scent for those who love sunny summer days and the warmth of the sun.
Fragrantica - I absolutely love it—just like I love almost everything created by Quentin Bisch. He’s a genius. Tilia is the first niche perfume I bought a full bottle of after testing it. My friends love it, and so do I...It’s perfect for spring, and also lovely in summer. This perfume doesn’t need any ads—just wear it once and people will start asking what you’re wearing. It spreads by word of nose!
Fragrantica - It is spring in a bottle, I love linden tree and orange flowers and this is such a great combination. I also get something a bit green, and once it dries down, after about two hours, it gets less sweet and a bit bitter on my skin. Almost like the smell of calendula (maybe the broom, I don't know how broom should smells like). It also smells like honey without being sweet. It's great.
Fragrantica - This perfume is unique to my collection as I mainly go for vanilla and sweet perfumes, but man, this is lovely. It’s such a beautiful mix of linden blossoms and sweet floral. I don’t like lemon notes, but this blends in that citrusy smell with the sweet floral so well. I’ll wear this perfume more in the summertime;
Fragrantica - I wasn’t expecting to find linden flowers that would smell close to a natural counterpart, however something remotely distant is there. Main motif is a hyperbolized honey note that vaguely resembles the scent of a variety bright yellow pollen-covered flowers. Speaking of honey—it’s not honey cakes, not natural bee honey, but rather a concentrated essence of its aroma. I’ve sensed something similar in honey-based watercolor paints
Very strong, unusual and piercing. I love it!
Fragrantica - Tilia was a love at first sniff. Everyone around me could detect it as well and I received many compliments the day wore it.
The opening can be somewhat a little too harsh but that initial (somewhat citrusy outburst to my nose) settles down quite fast and turns into a very realistic linden blossom that is sooo addictive and nostalgic. The drydown is a whole another fragrance on its own: its floral but much creamier than the top and the heart accords and it lasts on clothes literally for a week! (I sprayed it on my hoodie and could still smell it after 6 days).
Fragrantica - I freaking love it , I mean I wear all day, and don't agree all feminine.... it's beautiful
Fragrantica - Deeply nostalgic fragrance to me because I grew up in a place with endless linden trees. This smells like hot July afternoon during the height of their bloom season. It is extremely realistic, very sweet with a hint of honey. This is a happy, joyful, carefree scent. Lovely, absolutely lovely!
EDIT: this thing is immortal. It just lasts and lasts and lasts. Even 48 hours and 2 showers later I can still detect it on my wrist. Projection is enormous.
Fragrantica - Cold linden tea with citrus and storm air at the start.
Long lasting top notes, then bright heliotrope and a little salt. Similar to L'eau d'hiver in the heliotrope and mood to me. Nothing like previous MAB fragrances, I would say.
Love it!
Fragrantica - It's spring in a bottle. I love linden tree flowers and couldn't find a perfume that actually smells like it, but this is on point! It's linden flowers plus that crips, flowery and fresh smell the air has during spring. It also lasts so long on skin, I can still smell it after 8h and one shower.
Fragrantica - I fell in love with the scent and now find it very different from Fleur Narcotique. Where Fleur is Spring flowers with a crispy air in spring, Tilia is yellow flowers on a hot summers day. Bought a full bottle. Love it.
Fragrantica - I adore this fragrance. It makes sense as Ganymede is my #1 fragrance of all time and this shares the same DNA. It's different enough to justify owning both...Ganymede is pure hay....like being in the middle of a field in late summer. Both of them bloom in the humid heat of Atlanta. Every time I go nose blind to Tilia, I step outside for a few seconds and it opens back up.
