Ambre Levant by Louis Vuitton is a Unisex Oriental Woody fragrance launched in 2026. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.
Notes of Cinnamon, Mandarin, Incense, White Pepper, Amber, Oud, Ambergris and Labdanum.
Ambre Levant is born from the fleeting instant, when amber light rises and unites sky and earth in a seamless wash of color. At its heart lies “black gold,” an emblematic treasure of Middle Eastern perfumery, which deepens the composition and amplifies its intensity tenfold. For Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, it is among the most sensual of woods—unique and of exceptional quality. Its refined woody character reveals a subtle animality, balanced by an elegance that is both spicy and warmly ambered.
With its absolute amber signature, Ambre Levant captures the light of the golden hour and extends its radiance onto the skin
Louis Vuitton Ambre Levant Reviews
Fragrantica - This is my favorite scent out of 100 ish bottles I own. I picked it up on launch day at my local LV store. I love what happens when I wear this. I immediately get a massive confidence boost because of how much I love this scent on my skin. I’m already a huge fan of Amber scents but the Oud in this with the orange and slightly smokey incense is to die for. The animalic note from the Oud is incredibly intoxicating in the best way. Warm and inviting. Every time I’ve worn this I get people asking what I’m wearing and how beautiful it smells on me. This is a 10/10 masterpiece from the initial spray to the dry down. Magic in a bottle.
Fragrantica - This is so f*cking good!...It's wonderfully fresh yet deep, slightly dark. I'm not going to even to describe everything about this because this needs to be gate kept! My favorite from the Middle Eastern collection.
Fragrantica - Potent. Virulent. Charming. Superlative.
LV has done some magic in the fragrance world over the last five years with the help of Belletrud however, the Journey to the Middle East collection is astounding and breaks away from the fresh blind buy worthy lineup of Imagination, Meteore, etc. Ambre Levant shares many of the qualities of Ombre Nomade but with an added sweetness and ease on the nose. The removal of the heavy smokiness is replaced with an overwhelming scent of amber and citrus while keeping the incense and oud at the center of your attention. On a short inhale you will find it sweeter. This is the scent of walking past a wearer or briefly moving a sprayed pulse point by your nose. On a longer or deeper inhale, the animalic properties and incense come through much more. All in all, this is a perfect, easy sell to anyone looking for something a little lighter on the nose than Ombre Nomade but who still wants to get the deepness and allure of the LV Middle Eastern line.
Overall: 9/10. If the animalic opening was tuned down slightly it would promote newer buyers to be more likely to purchase however, that is clearly not the goal of this fragrance.
Fragrantica - The opening is still a bit challenging, but after about 10 minutes it smells so incredible that I was honestly surprised — like, is this really the same fragrance I tried before? As it dries down, it becomes non-challenging, luxurious, rich, and extremely addictive — a scent that makes you want to keep smelling it.
This definitely requires experience. It’s not suitable for someone casually testing Imagination and then saying “let me try this one too.” But for someone looking for something deep, luxurious, and serious, it’s amazing. I will definitely test it more, and if it continues to impress me, I’ll buy it — because lately, I haven’t come across many fragrances that create that true “wow” effect.
Fragrantica - It’s embarrassing and great at the same time. Let me explain. You will smell like shit for the first 5 minutes of this due to the barn yard oud after that you smell wonderful. The mid and dry down are the best. If you can suffer through the opening it will reward you. 4 out of 5 stars.
Fragrantica - Super strong, but this is my kind of Oud. Not stinky and overbearing, not too sweet, just adds very nicely to the leather and animalic notes. Doesn’t smell like a barnyard as some other “animalic” fragrances do, just like a confident man at a formal event in the fall/winter. Very well blended and excellent longevity, as you would expect from the notes. If you don’t like when oud is super weirdly sweet or stinky, this could be worth testing. Super beautiful scent
Fragrantica - Absolutely stunning. Jacques Cavallier keeps getting better with every LV release in this oriental collection. My only wish is to have at least one release in this collection each year, and for the brand to tone down the marketing to keep away unnecessary noise from the obviously non-target audience. I’ve been wearing this exclusively for the past few weeks ever since its pre-launch and it’s incredibly addictive, although I have to admit the opening could have been further polished.
Also most people make the mistake of assuming that just because it’s an amber and has stuff like cinnamon , it’s meant for fall or winter. It actually works better on warm days, where the heat on skin helps unleash the mesmerising power of its base notes.. that’s pretty much the hidden beauty of most oud oils when paired with ambroxan!
Fragrantica - Resinous, spicy, dried-fruits type of Amber-Oud. Nothing smokey, imagine a leatherless ombre nomade with amped up exotic spices. I quite like this, I feel it sits somewhere between Ambre Sultan, Ambre Narguilles and a more elevated Dr.Vranjes Ambra. Take everything you like about Grand Soir and add some nice pleasant funk to it.
Fragrantica - Starts off quite bright and orangey, and dries down to a smooth creamy affair with oud and amber. Infinitely more versatile than Ombre Nomade. Has the half-life of Uranium. This shit lingers. Love.
Edit: Been wearing for a couple of days now. Every now and then I get a really nice ‘steam iron’ type accord mixing with the amber, oud, and orange.
Fragrantica - Oh my LAWD. This, in my opinion, is the best fragrance that Louis Vuitton has to offer...The opening was extremely sharp and punchy with a hint of citrus and a heavy animalic Oud and leather tone. I walked around the boutique, and as time had passed (around 10 minutes) I smelled my hand again… and holy shit. It blew me away!
The fragrance unfolds into an absolutely gorgeous amber and labdanum combo with some spicy, earthy tones. The cinnamon accord adds a bit of sweetness and depth and it’s stunning, it’s been about 9 hours since I sprayed it and bought my bottle and it’s still strong and beautiful. Imagine Roja PDLN but with a touch more sweetness and a ton more projection and longevity.
Genuinely a 10/10. Much better and more wearable than Ombre Nomad, though not as strong. Overall very satisfied and is now my new favorite fragrance that LV has ever put on the table.
Fragrantica - Wow… just wow. Smelled this on a test strip in the store and for some reason wasn’t too impressed, I bought pacific chill to finally add to the collection and sprayed this on my hand before leaving the store. 30 min later on my way home, the smell turned into one of the most beautiful amber scents I have tried. Diors ambre nuit is a little too animalic for me to purchase a full bottle of, same thing with ombré nomade. THIS on the other hand, is like if those 2 fragrances had a gifted baby. Maybe throw tom fords Amber absolute and Clive Christian’s blonde Amber in the mix too. it starts out a with a little barnyard oud, and a soft, spicy amber, with a touch of orange and maybe some vanilla or something to give it a creaminess. The dry Down is just magic, all those notes blended perfectly into a resinous, bright and dark, beautiful creation. This might be my new favorite in my collection of 100+ 10/10 scent.
Fragrantica - Somehow, the fragrance just continues to evolve and get better and better, if you can get past the outset animalic linger, this really is a masterpiece.
Fragrantica - Well, this is fire. Just when I thought Ambre Nuit Esprit was the best amber comes this guy and makes it 10 times better.
Fragrantica - It’s absolutely stunning. Easily deserving of a place in Louis Vuitton’s dark bottle “Journey to the Middle East” line—oriental, enigmatic, and deeply powerful. It makes its presence known without ever becoming overwhelming. Distinct and unmistakable, yet refined. It draws attention effortlessly without crossing into excess. Best of all, it lasts all day on both skin and fabric, wrapping around you like a warm, comforting veil—one that leaves those around you quietly intrigued.
The oud here is notably different from what you find in Ombre Nomade or Les Sables Roses. It’s beautifully balanced with amber, cinnamon, and frankincense, resulting in a scent profile that feels truly distinctive—very much in line with the signature style of Jacques Cavallier at his finest.
While the opening—with hints of neroli and bergamot layered over that warm, spiced core—didn’t strike me as immediately captivating in the same way Ombre Nomade did, the drydown of Ambre Levant is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s where the fragrance truly comes alive, and where I completely fell for it. In my view, this is an exceptional creation and very likely another major success for Louis Vuitton.
