Reviews of Hermes H24 EdT
Fragrantica - I love both the EDT and the EDP, the former for its metallic sclarene and the latter for its fruity ripeness. I don’t think it’s redundant to have both. But if you already like the EDT or EDP, I don’t think it’s necessary to get Herbes Vives, which bears the least resemblance to the original H24 DNA. Overall, I think the H24 line is underrated. If Terre D’Hermes is classic, H24 is for the modern man. I would wear H24 over Terre D’Hermes any day of the year.
From Persolaise - "H24‘s opening is blissfully easy to enjoy. The optimism of the narcissus, the gently floral inflection of the rosewood, the green, outdoorsy energy of the sage — Nagel’s skill has balanced them all so beautifully, I defy anyone not to be won over by their charm."
From Colognoisseur - "Now comes the ingredient which will change how H24 is thought of. While Mmes Nagel and Nichanian were visiting the tailoring shop they smelled the steamy chemical being used on the fabrics. Mme Nagel wanted to incorporate that into H24. She would settle on the synthetic molecule sclarene as her surrogate. If you’ve ever spent time at a dry cleaner or tailoring shop, there is that scent of metallic chemical humidity which hovers in the air. Sclarene is the scent of that. When Mme Nagel inserts it into H24 it doesn’t make me think so much of a tailor as it does of a futuristic aesthetic. It adds a steamy metallic piece to the original trio. It is as surprising and enjoyable as it was when I tried Terre D’Hermes for the first time. It just feels unique."
From Basenotes - "You'll catch pangs of the metallic elements all day. No patchouli means H24 will definitely feel safer for the office than Terre d'Hermès ever could, and H24 is punchy enough to survive the cold but fresh enough for heat, making it a good choice in all situations except romantic ones where a sweeter or spicier scent would work better."
