Guerlain Eau de Cologne Imperiale

Guerlain Eau de Cologne Imperiale was created by Pierre-Francois-Pascal Guerlain and launched in 1853. It is a delicate floral citrus fragrance that features top notes of orange, lemon verbena, neroli, bergamot and lemon; a middle note of lavender; and base notes of cedarwood and tonka bean.

It was the very first Eau de Cologne by Guerlain and was specially composed for the Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III. It was also the first made-to-order fragrance in perfumery as it was created by special order solely for the Empress Eugénie to treat her migraines.

Fragrantica - Eau de Cologne Imperiale by Guerlain is absolutely fantastic. Guerlain has spent countless hours creating such an array of fragrance's which are legendary in their own right. I couldn't agree more with everyone who says that this is the best Eau on the market!  This fragrance is perfect during the spring/summer months. This juice is UNBELIEVABLY well-balanced. Thou it's listed as a women's frag, to me this juice is unisex with a real green/citrus aroma. The green note comes from lemon verbena giving it a real herbal with a herbal tone. Neriol is what helps this frag with a hint of sweet/powdery/floral vibe making it fresh and clean.

Fragrantica - Imperiale is the fragrance that started my love for Guerlain. The refreshing citrus and slightly sweet tenderness of this fragrance just made me want to be surrounded by it all day. As my skin temperature is a bit lower than usual, the scent projected from this fragrance on my skin is very soft and doesn't last at all. To compensate this, I would just splash it generously on myself every time I wore it and reapplied throughout the course of the day. Imperiale is a true masterpiece and anyone who appreciate good quality fragrances should have at least one bottle.

Fragrantica - The best in my collection. The bottle and the fragrance are gorgeous. The fragrance is a very light and refreshing Eau de Cologne, perfect for the summer months, but is definitely a year-round fragrance. Will not last long in colder weather. Being an Eau de Cologne, this is not meant to last very long, an hour at most, without much projection. Can be used by men and women, this is clearly a unisex fragrance. Lemon Verbena open up this Guerlain masterpiece, followed by a very light touch of lavender and a hint of orange blossom. Sophisticated. 

Fragrantica - This fine fragrance is so bracing and energizing. I love the bright green and citrus notes. It's a wonderful way to begin the day. It's radiant and cool. A masterpiece cologne!

Fragrantica - This was one of my first fresh fragrances, then I didn't have it for a long time and missed it. I have many great fresh, citrus, and aquatics. But just the scent of Imperial, is so clean, green, and fresh. It is outstanding, comfortable, wearable, soothing. 

Fragrantica - It may not last more than 2 or 3 hours, but Eau de Cologne Imperiale is as good as it gets when it comes to Eau de Cologne. It's clean, refreshing, and therapeutic as should be. It's the best Eau de Cologne out there, and when it poops out, just reapply and enjoy it again and again.....

Fragrantica - This is a clear example of how simplicity is the key for success.The neroli and citrus combination makes it ideal for summer. Easy to wear and easier to love.
