Woody Sandalwood by Dossier, inspired by Le Labo Santal 33 is a Unisex Woody fragrance launched in 2021, is a tribute to the often underutilized precious nature of Sandalwood. Often considered a second player in the perfume industry, this scent capitalizes on the highest quality sandalwood: the Mysore variety from India. The result is uncomparable sandalwood that highlights its creamy facets, perfectly balancing the sharpness of other woods, while simultaneously giving a smooth continuity to floral bouquets. Pair that with the magical nature of sweet violet, classic orris, and woodsy musk, and Woodsy Sandalwood will soon become a new classic.
Qualitative and minimalistic, Woody Sandalwood brings to mind the comfort of a warm hug, conveying a strong feeling of inner sensuality that's unmatched by any comparable scent.
Notes: Violet Leaves, Cardamom; Cedar, Ambroxan, Orris, Cypriol, Sandalwood, Musk and Amber.
REVIEWS
Fragrantica - "Its a good replacement. i will say the initial spray is very pungent, but that the sour dry hay-ish smell fades to a sweeter and creamier version on the body. i hate sweet smells and most florals and this is a very bitter astringent scent. it is a creamy outdoor smell, like a silky animal that spends all its time running around in dry grass and rolling over rocks. ive seen a lot of reviews saying it smells like dill cucumbers, but that's a stretch. dont be scared. I've had it two days and have received many compliments. it smells like Grendel's mother, or how a sphinx would smell, like a dusty woman. love love love. if you like patchouli or burn a lot of incense you will probably like it, it reads stuffy and condensed the way incense does to me."
Fragrantica - "I'm not so into it on its own, but layered with another scent has been giving me scent euphoria, I feel like it's *my* smell. super into layering it with a more feminine scent, i feel like i'm always seeking a feminine and masculine balance scent wise and i'm very into achieving that with this....she's aggressively woody, as promised! very yummy, my go to lately is she with ambery saffron or spicy orchid also from dossier. if ur looking for clean, woody, masculine, again clean, and again woody, she is ur girl. i feel like i'm gonna be using her for a while, i want to try layering her with all of my scents that veer a little too feminine for me."
Fragrantica - "This smells like: Sipping a fancy mojito, getting the hits of lime, salt, cucumber as you stir In an old wooden library, flipping through an old book. The only time I've ever LOVED a sour fragrance. It's intoxicating, interesting, smells DIVINE to someone who's new to Santal imitations (seriously, my friend grabbed me with both hands, sniffed me so hard I felt his nostrils sucking the air from my skin and moaned, lol) I spray it onto my clothes for that "not trying too hard" faded fragrance effect."
Fragrantica - "If you like woody fragrances that aren't too in-your-face and last FORever, this is a great one! Fragrantica: Wow and Holy Shit!! I own S33 and this is one of those excellent dupes that make me wanna try Dossiers other offering because they knocked this one out of the park. You might not like this one but you may not like the original one either, so try before you buy. I even get that slight smell of pickles that I get from the original, how cool is that."
