Oud Zarian by Creed is a Unisex Oriental Spicy Woody fragrance launched in 2025. At the soul of Oud Zarian lies Oud Choron, the most treasured 80-year-aged oud, harvested from the heart of Aquilaria trees deep in the Sylhet forests. Prized for its quality and scarcity, this unequalled oud lends a velvety, resinous depth and complexity to Oud Zarian that is nothing short of exceptional. It is not just the highest quality oud that makes Oud Zarian so extraordinary; it is its pairing with other sought-after ingredients, above all the Rose Centifolia that blossoms at its heart. The harvest of this plush bloom is so fleeting - a mere three weeks in May at dawn - that its essence is unrivalled in its rarity.
Notes of Spices, Frankincense, Ginger, Bergamot; May Rose; Licorice, Myrrh, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Patchouli and Oud.
Oud Zarian blends spicy, woody, and amber accords. A luminous opening of bergamot, frankincense, ginger, and warm spice accords awakens the senses with a radiant yet mystical energy. At its heart, a singular bloom of rose centifolia unfurls-velvety and regal, adding depth and elegance. The fragrance settles into an opulent base, where the rare richness of 80-year-aged oud intertwines with patchouli, sandalwood, and myrrh, grounded by the subtle sweetness of liquorice root and tonka bean. The result is a composition that is both ancient and modern-mysterious, intoxicating, and profoundly enduring.
Reviews of Creed Oud Zarian
Fragrantica - Tried it love it price is crazy but its one of the best mature gourmands ever yes its a gormand to me its a cross between sweetie aoud royal tobacco and oud satin mood
Fragrantica - This is a signature scent worthy- 4 sprays ' 4 full sprays and you will definitely be noticed for the next 6 hours. The fragrances opens up with oud and the oud smells stays on for about 6-7 hours. It feels like it takes really long and only after about 10 hours im able to get the base smell. A bit more sweeter than the opening. Actually this smells good but not sure if it is worth the price tag. The oud is a little bit different than anything else commonly found in department store or even in the niche houses. But it reminds me of something. This definitely is a signature scent worthy and honestly if someone smells this on you. They will will assume you smell this good all the time.
Fragrantica - Oohhh creed is playing in the ground of amouage! The style, the transition of the layers feels like an amouage to me. And yes royal tobacco is definitely accurate here, although the drydown here, the woods are more creamy somehow then you'd expect from an amouage, and more bold for a creed. I do like the concept that creed tries something new out of their comfortzone and I think it's a very good release. Sharp and spicey, transition to more sweet balsamic and dry woody perfume. So basically because of the spice and ambers in the opening that blasts you off it smells like a tobacco scent.. continues to a coffee kind of thing, then the sweeter balsamic parts enter but it's not really a sweet perfume if that makes sense.. it's a very dry woody perfume once it settled. 8/10 formal and dressed up for sure.. it screams authority
Fragrantica - Does not smell a thing like Royal Tobacco. This is an extremely opulent smelling, spiced, resinous rose oud that the frankincense and myrrh really jump out of. Incredibly potent, the hardest projecting and longest lasting Creed release ever by FAR. Shame they wasted the name "Royal Oud" on their cedar fragrance because that's exactly what this smells like...
Fragrantica - The opening is dominated by bold licorice, ginger (very bright and zingy), and resin, immediately setting the tone-no animalic oud, no barnyard, no skank. People who are hesitant with Oud won't find anything off-putting here. While some may compare it to Royal Tobacco, that ends quickly. This is brighter, less smoky, and carries a creamy sweetness that stays throughout. As it develops, a unique "fiery" character emerges-slightly sour and acidic, yet balanced by the ongoing creaminess. It's daring, but never harsh. About an hour in, a rich, jammy rose note takes over, adding freshness and extra depth to the spicy warmth. In the dry-down, a thick, sweet vanilla appears-not quite gourmand-anchored by soft woody and lingering resinous tones. The oud here is warm, deep, and supportive, but never overpowering.
Fragrantica - For anyone's information there are bulk loads of oud that have been stored for more than 80 years its a practice well know especially in the middle east. After creed stepping into more ambery fragrances with centaurus and delphinus i can't wait to try this one. Creed are really stepping up the game just now and very successfully. Centaurus is a beauty ! I am super excited for this new release !
Fragrantica - Very good smelling fragrance. It's the best oud fragrance I've ever smelled in my opinion. It's not a stinky smelling oud, you get more of a sweeter smell to be honest. You also hardly get any rose. It's just a dark and spicy kinda sweet and resinous oud and it's really good smelling
Fragrantica - Wow, this is interesting. Not at all what I expected. Look at you, Creed! This is not mass-appealing whatsoever lol. This smells much more like an Amouage fragrance than a Creed fragrance. I like it. It is BALSAMIC and AROMATIC, herbal, spicy and a touch camphoric. The frankincense and myrrh dominate. The May Rose is a minor player, to my nose. If there are any hidden notes not listed, the extra things I think may be possibilities are cloves, cardamom and/or nutmeg.
It begins its life loud, strong, masculine, and slightly harsh and pungent. In the opening, it projects like a mofo. But as it lives its life on your skin, it changes fairly dramatically. The mid softens and smooths out and I find the mid and dry down to be beautiful. It never becomes feminine, but as it progresses from opening to mid to dry down, the softness and slight touches of sweetness from the rose, tonka bean and licorice appear. There may be some undisclosed vanilla and/or benzoin in the base as well. By the heart of the dry down, it is actually mildly sweet and almost comforting and maternal.
There is no rush to go out and buy this in the heat of the summer. The first word my wife uttered when she smelled my wrist was "Ooooh, Winter". This is exclusively a fall and winter scent.
Due to its strong balsamic, aromatic and almost piney opening, the first fragrance that came to mind when I smelled Oud Zarian was Serge Luten's Fille en Aiguilles. And as it smoothed out in the mid, it reminded me of Dior Sauvage Elixir. After a few hours wear, it became pretty obvious to me that the success of Dior Sauvage Elixir, Boss Bottled Elixir and Boss Bottled Absolu were Creed's inspiration for Oud Zarian.
Fragrantica - I love where the new Creed trends are going: strong performer, gorgeous bottle, very exquisite blend. My favorite amongst the new releases along with Centaurus. In the US it is scheduled to be released in September 2025. Definitely must try!!! In the opening it will give you an impression that it's an entry oud frag, kid you not, wait until drydown and you will change your mind.
PS After a few days of wearing, this is the darkest fragrance Creed produced (at least in the recent history, who knows what they were doing in 19th century?). Love the blend of spices and woods with some freshness up top. It does smell like something Amouage would release (Royal Tobacco has something in common with this but not the same). Not for everyone but very very good!!! This is a more wearable oud though from oud fragrance family.
Fragrantica - This is a big shift for Creed, especially if you're used to their classic or fresh style. This one goes in a completely different direction. It immediately reminded me of Xerjoff's Tony Iommi Monkey Special, with that same bold, almost edgy vibe. It's definitely a masculine scent. Strong projection, good sillage, and solid staying power. But let's be honest about the name-just like Royal Oud, this isn't really about oud. Even with the claim of 80-year-aged oud, the note is subtle, more of a supporting player than the star. That said, it's a beautiful fragrance. Rich, warm, and complex...If you're looking for something unmistakably Creed, this isn't it. If you want something daring and different, it might be exactly what you're after.
Fragrantica - Strong oud scent definently for winter and has the similarity to hinoki cedarwood from jo malone but like a grown up version of it with a hint of chocolate it could be the frankinciense, I tried it in skin and it had beast performance. If I were to deacribe the fragrance I'll say this is the husband of queen of silk and the father of hinoki cedarwood from jo malone
Fragrantica - Handsome, deeply mature, and opulent. An aged Tootsie Roll, rich temple incense, spice, and a decadent wooden creaminess that pulls it all together. Masterful work from Creed.
Fragrantica - This is a deep, sweet, spicy, woody fragrance. It lasts and projects incredibly and if I had to describe it I'd say it's sophisticated Christmas in a bottle. It's a phenomenal fragrance for the winter and is probably the best Oud/ rose fragrance on the market. It's not too overwhelming with Oud and it's not too dry and floral with the rose. The licorice and spice accords shine very well with this fragrance. Overall 9.8/10
Fragrantica - This fragrance is sensational. Regal, sexy, woody, deep, and masculine. The May rose and Oud are blended together so beautifully. But it's far from the typical rose oud combos like you're accustomed to smelling. The woods and resins make this a masterpiece. Creed came out swinging for the fences with this one. I'm smelling it on me right now while typing this, and it's got me in a trance. It smells REALLY good. My wife just came in the room and said it smells yummy.
Yes, it's egregiously expensive. But what isn't these days!? I feel like it's Creed's take on an Amouage style fragrance. I'm very impressed. It's like a dark masculine fragrance with just a touch of softness (from the rose maybe), to make it sensual, yet still serious and regal. I think this will be for Creed, what Sauvage Elixir was for Dior.
Fragrantica - A step outside of Creed's comfort zone, Oud Zarian showcases a potential future of daring and unique fragrances from the house. This was no small task stepping away from their wheelhouse of fresh and elegant scents... but they delivered!
Testing Oud Zarian over the past month, I've been able to better understand this bold and multi-faceted scent. From the initial spray, the power and intensity is present with the spicy and sparkling blast of ginger, licorice, and frankincense. You need to be prepared as this trio has a sharp, herbaceous and fizzy quality. However, warm spices quickly emerge, grounding the fizzy intensity with warm balsamic sweetness. The opening is challenging as the conglomerate of notes remind you of typical Christmas spices, closely related to the opening of Amouage Royal Tobacco.
After 30 minutes, a dry-down emerges that is smooth, sweet, spicy, woody, and extremely creamy. For me, this is a best of the house dry-down; even better than the likes of Aventus, Millesime Imperial, or Green Irish Tweed. There are a handful of notes that stand out in this lovely blend as Rose de Mai, Sandalwood, Tonka, Oud, and Vanilla make for an extremely sensual and long lasting base.
From the mentioned notes above, the Oud and Rose feel like supporting facets, adding volume and sensuality. The rose is slightly jammy, giving lift to the vanilla and creamy sandalwood while holding a light floral touch. Everyone is wondering how the Oud interacts and smells within this creation. Again, it feels like a supporting note. Instead of an animalic and funky Oud, this Jalali Oud is very warm with a woody and creamy nuance. From a Creed creation, I expected just this as I would've been even more surprised with the use of fecal smelling Oud.
Even deeper than the rose and oud combo lies the sensuality of vanilla, sandalwood, and tonka. This warm, creamy concoction may remind you of Amouage Outlands, well-known for its creamy and smooth nature. For something outside of Creed's usual creation, the dry down is their most beautiful to date, in my opinion.
Even more surprising is the performance. Transitioning from elegant wearing experiences, Oud Zarian may be the strongest fragrance in my collection. From 2 sprays, you are enveloped in the intensity of warm spices and sweet/creamy undertones. You will get noticed, but there's no denying, Oud Zarian smells fantastic.
