Bal a Versailles Jean Desprez used more than 350 of the purest, most expensive natural ingredients when he composed his masterpiece Bal a Versailles in 1962. Three separate rose species were used - Bulgarian, Anatolian and May - however the rose note is not pronounced and mixes with the other top notes while letting the dark jasmine heart shine. Meaning "Ball at Versailles", the incredibly gorgeous and decadent French Palace with the Hall of Mirrors, this fragrance recalls dances held in the ballroom.
Top notes of rosemary, orange blossom, mandarin orange, cassia, jasmine, rose de mai, neroli, bergamot and lemon; middle notes of sandalwood, patchouli, lilac, orris root, vetiver, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley and leather; and base notes of tolu balsam, amber, musk, benzoin, civet, vanilla, cedar, sandalwoof, melilot, and resins.
Bassnotes - "This oriental fragrance is an incredibly sexy animalic scent.
Basenotes - "The sacred and profane collide here: roses, lilac and jasmine gussied up, leathered up, then dirtied up. These flowers have entered the 'back room,' if you catch my drift. It is as if Knize Ten and Royal Bain de Caron had a gay marriage. The civet note is a trained kitty but still gets its tail into some business, and the old fashioned rose note is a keystone to all the tension and release, dissonance and consonance in the development of Bal a Versailles. The dry down is a sheer, smoldering, yet animalic base of resins."
While a Current version of Bal a Versailles is still available through Genesis International Marketing Corp. It is no where near the gorgeous vintage scent that we are providing of the original Eau de Toilette version.

"Glorious, not sure if anyone could reach out but I’m Curious what era this vintage is from? I want a vintage bottle that smells like this. I have the more current edt from couple years ago. I still Love it but it’s definitely way less animalic. This is glorious, like Francesca Blanchi style."
