Phlur Father Figure

Phlur Father Figure was released in 2023, created by Constance Frank Voelkl.  I don't know if this will become the cult favorite Missing Persons was, but it has a very comforting, milky warm feel that launches that addictive sniffing thing, much like Byredo Gypsy Water does  A woody fig fragrance, it has notes of fig, water lily, cassis, orris root, iris, jasmine, sandalwood, musk, madagascar vanilla and patchouli leaf. Phlur Father Figure is an eau de parfum, edp.

The perfumer, Frank Voelkl says Father Figure is "This fragrance is inspired by hidden gardens. There is a contrast between the vivid greenness and something more skin-like. The milky nectar of fig compliments buttery suede qualities of orris to create a naturally sensual effect."

Fragrantica - "I love this, especially for hot weather (but I think it would hold up well in cooler weather too). It starts as an aquatic, transparent floral smoothed out by the orris, very mildly sweet. The fig is fruity but not in a synthetic, sticky way. Basenotes are quite woody, but not pickley at all. Absolutely unisex, refreshing and natural."

Fragrantica - "This perfume opens with a juicy, green fig and slowly turns into a creamy, sheer, leathery scent. So far, it is my favourite from this brand! If you are a fan of the Le Labo DNA (I get the creaminess from Santal 33 with the fruitness of The Matcha) but want something a bit more sheer (less pickle juice), yet still strong, this is the one!"

Fragrantica - "Cozy, reassuring, warm. I'll be wearing this regularly when the summer heat relents, as this to me is a quintessential autumn fragrance. If you aren't into fig notes (like me), give this an honest wear before skipping it-you might be surprised to find that you can definitely rock this, like I was. It's smooth and inviting with a subtle sweetness and fuzziness. If a heartfelt hug from someone you love and trust had a scent, this is a worthy interpretation.:

Fragrantica - This comes off like a fresh version of an iris/orris fragrance. I love it! Very refreshing, but it also have that powderiness of the iris/orris to balance nicely... Great for warmer weather. I do smell the fig, it's one of my favorite notes in perfume and it adds a nice familiarity. The fig, cassis, and white florals make it fresh.. the orris/iris add a comforting texture to it, and the base notes give it a slight sense of warmth. But it still reads a bit bright to my nose. I don't own anything exactly like this.
