Dior Gris Dior - (formerly Gris Montaigne) Maison Christian Dior (Florals Collection)

Dior Gris Dior (formerly Gris Montaigne) is part of the Floral Collection. Worshiped as the queens of flowers, these blooms reign majestically over these fragrances. Sweet jasmine, sensual rose and seductive tuberose procure instant pleasure. Fragrances in this collection include Grand Bal, La Colle Noire, Gris Dior, Jasmin des Anges and New Look 1947.

Gris Dior was created by perfumer Francois Demachy. Christian Dior had a mad love affair with grey - the iconic pink and gray houndstooth check is what I think of first when you say Christian Dior. Demachy created Gris Montaigne as a tribute to Dior's history, A chypre, Francois Demachy wanted it to be a "legendary perfume accord and to reinterpret the accord of Monsieur Dior's very first fragrance, as it could have been today".

Notes: bergamot, rose, patchouli, amber, cedarwood, sandalwood and oakmoss. It is a rose encased in gray, the constraints of it make it soar into easily one of my favorite rose perfumes that doesn't really feel like a rose perfume.  Just elegant and stunning simplicity. Dior's luxury fragrance line La Collection Privee has been reimagined for 2018, offering a new way for you to be dressed in Dior. Rebranded as Maison Christian Dior, it goes beyond a collection of fragrances to become a somewhat ritualistic concept; that of perfuming and embellishing spaces and moments in your life. "When I create perfumes I flout technical constraints, schedules, fashions and trends," Demachy explains of his artistic process. The fragrances in this collection are formed in families of Orientals, Florals, Sensuals, Light Florals and Fruity Florals, non-specific to gender but without being labelled 'unisex'.

From Bois de Jasmin - "I probably wouldn't describe Gris Montaigne as grey and pink if I were to smell it blindly, but the choice of delicate rose and earthy woods makes for a polished fragrance. It's noticeable without being loud, but it has enough character to be memorable. Gris Montaigne is a pile of wood shavings drenched in rosewater, with just enough mossy, wet soil notes to keep this pastel number from becoming too prim and proper."

Fragrantica - Got a chance to try and purchase this juice in Paris (also in such a short amount of sniffing time) and I immediately loved it. It smells expensive, well blended and captivatingly beautiful. Imagine a rich & noble stylish lady strolling around the city, she must be wearing this.  The projection lasts 8 - 12 hours on my body but it stays like 2-3 days on my clothes.  A classic indeed.

Fragrantica - This is an all-year-round masterfully blended rose patchouli and a cold modern chypre. i find the comparison with bottega edp quite accurate, although gris dior does not feature leather (or at least on Fragrantica), it does kinda smell like it. i also find gris dior a more unisex and badass version of annick goutal tenue de soiree with less iris and more earthy touches. gris dior smells like a cold earthy leather with masterfully created flowers in the background; it lasts a long time and is truly unisex which is why i recommend it to everyone.

Fragrantica - This fragrance is perfection in a bottle. I wear this masterpiece whenever I want to feel like myself. Elegance, class and arrogance in a perfume. This gives me parisian chic vibes. One of my most complimented and most worn perfumes! In my top 3 favorite perfumes for life and just absolutely stunning. The combination of rose, oak moss and patchouli is just heavenly blended. The trail on this fragrance is so captivating and longevity is amazing on me, 10-12 hours with very good projection and sillage. It blows me away whenever I smell and wear it.. A masterpiece!

Fragrantica - This is a masterpeice, a real beauty and so well blended. I get a mix of rose with soft patchouli and oakmoss. Some say that this is an old style perfume, perhaps because of the oakmoss, but I think that this is timeless. I have never smelled anything like this before, and I need this one in my collection. It's a stunning signature worthy kind of scent!... It is just pure perfection. I'm in love.

Fragrantica - This one is simply spectacular. Alluring, refined, perfectly unisex. The name is perfectly chosen, the impression is grey.  an unequaled masterpiece.
