Xerjoff Oud Stars Alexandria II Reviews
Fragrantica - Remember when I first tried it years ago and was blown away by the dry down (which goes on forever btw). Still to this day the only fragrance that invokes a sense feeling weak in the knees when I get a whiff unexpectedly. This is it, this is my holy grail fragrance.
Fragrantica - This is one of the best scents i have smelled, it is incredible. You have to try it it is really hard to describe. The most beautiful oud fragrance, very clean, spicy and masculine. Smells incredible and has a huge sillage for the first few hours, lasts 12+ at least. It changes 2-3 times during it`s duration, just incredible.
Fragrantica - Xerjoff is magical when it comes to working with Oud. This is a princess of a fragrance. Much softer than my favorite, More Than Words. The Vanilla and florals evens out all the hard edges making this more feminine and approachable. Like the most elegant woman in the room but also the one you feel like you could offer her a cocktail and she'd not only accept it, she'd engage you in conversation, laugh at your jokes and maybe...just maybe kiss you goodnight..on the lips!
Fragrantica - Wow... I understand now why people call this a masterpiece. It absolutely is. Such a complex, beautiful, well-blended scent.. expensive, but well worth the money. So uplifting... unbelievable. This is the stuff that kings and sheiks would wear. Weirdly, no one mentions that this is almost animalic! To my nose, I can pick up on the oud trying to explode out of its shell and just go barnyard, but it never does! It's like the perfume is teasing you, in the best way possible. While I would wear this all the time, I think this stuff should be reserved for only the finest moments in life... Amazing!
Fragrantica - This scent has a beautiful lavender style opening and to me, it balances out the mid so that it comes across more floral than rose which makes in not only unique but a stunningly beautiful pair to the oud in the base. I normally hate rose oud scents but this one is literally my # 1 fragrance out of 29+ full bottle niche and designers and that includes the 100+ samples/decants I have tried. The oud is smooth, not animalic, vulgar, off putting or odd in any way because I pick up on the amber as time goes by....but then it's like the top note of lavender comes back...then the floral goes back into that floral/oud rose (in a non-rosey way) again and then it goes full circle back into the blend with Amber. I absolutely love it and it is one of my most complimented fragrances both from people I know and random strangers passing by.
Fragrantica - "Alexandria II is greater than the sum of its parts, so I wouldn't be too attached to individual notes. No almond is listed but I definitely pick it up in the opening. Perception is interesting like that! Lavender and rose are done very well here but the rose swings it slightly feminine to me. Looks like many people voted this unisex/masculine-leaning but again, perception. The drydown is AMAZING and my favorite part. It's ambergris-ish/ambroxan-ish in the best way, probably the vanilla, amber and musk. Oud is used as a binding agent and x-factor...I wouldn't consider this an 'oud' fragrance but its used masterfully."
Fragrantica - "It's one of my faves along with K'bridge Club and Commandante. The best way I can describe the oud here is like a black sky, with all the other notes being the stars. Elegant, sexy, and unique."
Fragrantica - "This has to be one of the most beautiful, calming lavenders I have ever experienced. I can perceive an instant sense of calm and soothing after picking out the lavender, absolutely visceral! Paired with the woody facet, it makes for a killer combination. The opening is a bit of a mess, but the dry down is absolutely killer."
Fragrantica - "Alexandria II is definitely among the smoothest, best-blended, most elegant and sophisticated fragrances I've ever had the pleasure of putting my nose on. The opening is a blast of excellence, but A2 just keeps getting better and better in the drydown. So. Fucking. Good. And the performance...off the charts."
Fragrantica - "An absolute gem. This is a masterpiece if I have ever smelled one. It truly gets no better. I've tried every niche brand known to man. This is pure quality and sophistication in a bottle."
