Vetiver Oriental is rare and mysterious woodsy nectar with domination of vetiver, created for fans of classic woody fragrances. In oriental surrounding vetiver gets unusual and daring interpretation. The fragrance contains only high quality components, one of the characteristics of Serge Lutens fragrances in general: smoky-floral scent of Guaiac wood, cold powdery iris, and calming warm sandalwood are excellent and unusual companions to vetiver. The top notes feature herbal green juices, iris and woodsy notes of branches; the heart introduces vetiver root, Guaiac wood, and chocolate; the drydown reveals musk, amber, sandalwood and labdanum.

Fragrantica - Masterful. Not a single note out of place, each identifiable yet perfectly entwined—a symphony where Vetiver transforms, molded by iris, chocolate, and vanilla into something unexpected yet utterly mesmerizing. It is the balance of magic and precision, the classic Lutens enchantment. A scent unlike any other, a Vetiver reimagined—unique, sophisticated, wholly unforgettable.
Fragrantica - As a passionate lover of woody fragrances with an Oriental character, I was absolutely captivated from the first moment I inhaled Vetiver on my skin.
The structure of this exquisite woody perfume reveals itself with green, herbal-aromatic, slightly spicy and subtly bitter accords (possibly also containing Artemisia). This captivating opening is joined by delicate woody and powdery notes of iris, combined with floral and smoky nuances from guaiac wood. These accords envelop the vetiver, timidly intertwined with an elegant touch of chocolate, and the floral accords, resulting in a harmonious and refined composition....Personally, it won me over from the first spray.
Fragrantica - This is a masterpiece guys. I have never heard of Serge Lutens as I am a young guy (age 20), I tried all of them and this one made a serious impression. My favourite vetiver smell, it is not a sharp sour vetiver kind of like with Guerlain Vetiver, this is mixed with sweet and smooth amber plus chocolate, making it syrupy and smoky whilst still being fresh, which makes it the best Serge Lutens for a young guy.
Fragrantica - ...this is a very sophisticated Parisian style "Oriental" take on the vetiver note. The perfume sweetens the traditionally masculine considered vetiver note to the point that it becomes really feminine. To achieve this result, the perfume opens with the rooty vetiver with a lovely iris and guaiac wood transitioning to a heart that reveals more vetiver this time with notes of chocolate and finally drying down to powdery labdanum, amber, musk and sandalwood with the vetiver beautifully enveloping the background. Beautifully blended, unisex, with moderate to strong sillage and projection and good longevity. This is a textbook case for true perfume blending mastery. Enjoy!
Fragrantica - Smoky woody vetiver, accompanied with dark bitter chocolate. Smooth, very smooth and extremely elegant. But it is yet another unusual combination by Serge Lutens. Perfect for fall time, sunny or rainy. More masculine if anything, cause the vetiver is in your face. If you like Vetiver Tonka and Sycomore, please give this a try, cause it is right up there with those 2. Also, Nasomatto Pardon reminds me of this, cause it has that dark, not sweet, subdued chocolate that is just so elegant and sexy. But Vetiver Oriental is where everything started.
