Guerlain Feve Gourmande (formerly Gourmand Coquin) is new to the the L'Art et La Matiere Collection in 2023. Previously released as Gourmand Coquin, it was a much-loved fragrance, and then discontinued. Now it's back, and it is a gorgeous gourmand. Created by Delphine Jelk, it has notes of cocoa, rum, spices, woods, patchouli, and tea. It is an Eau de Parfum; EdP.
From the perfumer, Delphine Jelk - "Normally associated with childhood, cocoa reveals a new maturity. In Feve Gourmande, it is singularly blended with the depth of a smoky tea accord and the luminous elegance of rose."
From the brand - "A symbol of gourmet delight, the cocoa accord reveals chocolate notes that are equally sweet and bitter. Feve Gourmande plays on this contrast, moving from gourmandise to the point of excess. This loss of olfactory reference points creates a delectably surrealist cocoa. Floral and majestic rose shakes up the cocoa accord, heady with rum and spice notes. At the base, the woody elegance of patchouli warmed by the heat of smoky tea adds mystery to the chocolatey notes, revealing a new sensuality. Cocoa is olfactively expressed in the form of an accord, composed by the perfumer. This accord with chocolatey, and delicately bitter notes gives the perfume a sensory, gourmand feel. Between the gourmet pleasure of chocolate, the vertigo of rum notes and the refinement of rose, the cocoa note tips into an alternative reality. 'If it were a painting, it would be a surrealist work by Salvador Dali.'"
REVIEWS
Fragrantica - "It's an absolute beauty of rum, dry brittle chocolate and rose. The smoky tea aspects and patch are all dissolved in the semi-sweet chocolate."
Fragrantica - "This is absolutely delicious! I also have the bee bottle version and yes; it is still delectable. I get a LOT of the cacao. Sprayed before bed so can't speak to longevity just yet. Still beautiful!"
Fragrantica - "Feve Gourmand is just how I remember Gourmand Coquin smelling. I cannot speak for the longevity yet, but I am very pleased. It is sweet but not sickly sweet."
Fragrantica - "Here to also confirm its the same elixir! I'd say don't hesitate if you love the original GC..same booziness. So excited I could cry. its been years w/o it & reminded how much I love GC & appreciate Guerlain's overall craftsmanship."
Fragrantica - "This new release smells every bit like its gorgeous, smoky cacao-infused predecessor. I own the original bottle, the Bee Bottle purchased last year from Place Vendome and this latest stunner. Apart from the obvious depth and richness acquired through the natural process of maceration, the three fumes smell nearly identical."
