Eau Parfumee au The Rouge by Bvlgari is a unisex Amber Woody fragrance with notes of Pink Pepper, Bergamot, Orange; Tea, Fig; Walnut, Resin and Musk. Launched in 2006 created by Olivier Polge, this is the most beloved of all the Bvlgari tea scents. Unfortunately this fragrance is discontinued!!
The third Eau Parfumee in the long line of Bvlgari "tea fragrances" Two red-tea extracts were used to create this fragrance: Roiboos, a South African variety, which gives off its warm and gentle woody character, while Yunnan, a Chinese one, offers its intense and voloptous aroma to the composition.
REVIEWS
Fragrantica - This set the bar for me for tea perfumes. It's a sweet black tea with a hint of spice that pairs so well with chilly weather. I'm constantly hunting for an affordable bottle bc it quickly became a favorite that I've had no luck in replacing.
Fragrantica - I love the green tea undercurrent, but I truly like the layers of the other notes. The bergamot provides a delightful balance with the other scents. While this is similar to the other Bulgari scents in this line, I really think it holds its own. So far, it looks like this is going to be one of my favorites. Like I say, they seem to be pulling this out of the stores, so get it while you can.
Fragrantica - It starts with a peppery blast that is quite spicy and bracing, but quickly settles into gentler lines. The rooibos is at the forefront for me, with a darker truer tea in the background that never becomes too prominent, a bit of light woods. I am a big tea drinker and have wanted to love tea perfumes, but in fact I find there are relatively few that agree with my skin without threatening to put hair on my chest or turning into rubber. As this dries down, the tea note remains but is tempered with something milky, a hint of fig, and a nutty background that adds interest and depth--to me it smells more like almonds than walnuts. I find this scent casual, unisex, appropriate for a pretty wide range of weather (but perhaps best in spring and fall), and rather comforting--and it is my favorite of the Bvlgari tea perfumes.
Fragrantica - Like wrapping yourself in furs and velvets, going for a brief jaunt in the fresh, crisp winter air before stepping into a warm room. Feels like the winter chill still fresh on your face as you enter a Russian tearoom with leathery chairs smelling of smoky tea & true peppers....One of the few peppery scents which truly keep the peppery notes....Truly unisex - this scent I love to smell on myself & would love to smell on a partner (the throw after initial application is quite good).
Fragrantica - Of the Bulgari teas I smelled so far, Au The Rouge is my favourite. I love this one, since it gives off autumn vibes and sort of facilitates the transition from the hazyness of late summer to the cooler, clear air of september and october. The roibush and fig are prominent in this one, a huge plus for me as I love the smell of both. I also love the nutty dry down and the fact that it does indeed smell of walnuts and not some other nutty stuff.
Fragrantica - It's warm and I detect a soft spiciness on my skin. It's also very nutty smelling (walnut) which gives it an earthy feel to me. My favourite part about this scent is the red tea vibe that's going on. I really love it. It smells like an authentic tea and not chemical smelling at all. I know a lot of people don't like the fig note in perfumes but I do. Any perfume I've ever tried that has fig in it, I have liked a great deal. I love this fragrance so much that I bought a back-up bottle a week after I bought the first one as I know it's discontinued now. Definitely unisex
Fragrantica - I love, love, love this scent! I own this fragrance in a set with the Bleu and the Vert ones and this is my favorite. Wise decision to bring back this one because it really is a timeless beauty. It is kind of fresh but not in a citrusy or herbal way, it is kind of dry but fruity and aromatic at the same time, it has some kind of sweetness, maybe the walnut and resin, that makes it warm and delicious, it is feminine but perfectly wearable for men as well.
Fragrantica - Eau Parfumee Au The Rouge is a spicy and aromatic tea perfume. It is layered with strong Oriental touches of spices, resins and even tobacco.... Right off the bat it's a unisex aromatic scent. It does smell like a spicy tea. There was also something that smelled like a red rose but it's not listed as one of the notes. At the first spritz I detected the citrus and the pepper note. It then turns into that tea scent. It lasts for a long time but somehow, somehow it's not too strong. It's a light subtle scent that becomes part of your skin. I love the dry down. It smelled mostly of musk and resins.
