I came into this knowing that I loved Orange & Ginger combined and I found the other notes - especially the basil and vetiver - intriguing as vetiver is one of my favourite notes. No vanilla, no musk ... yeah, I was all in. I put it on and it smelled better than I imagined. To me this doesn't smell "sweet"; it smells like a warm spice that is in more of an upper register (if that makes sense) than the lower registers of usual warm spices that have much more of a base (bass???) presence and less of a top (treble???) presence.

Fragrantica - I really like it...the top notes are fresh and juicy, like an Atelier Cologne lime scent, it smells summery and almost beachy..although I usually don't like citrus scents , the fresh departure morphs real fast into a warmer more aromatic scent..happy to detect the amber, I love amber.....I don't really detect the basil, or The vetiver..which is fine..

Fragrantica - West bursts out of the gate with a flood of bright, juicy citrus: orange and grapefruit. After it mellowed out a bit, I got a green note which I think was the basil. Among these bright fruit notes it almost has a woody presence, like a forest. There's the teeniest bit of damp moss or soil that I can only make out if I really take a whiff, but it's not at all unpleasant. I quite like this fragrance,

Fragrantica - West opens with the sunniest citrus with a sugared rind. There's a bit of tart grapefruit, but candied tangerine is definitely the star. Once the initial citrus sugar rush subsides, I can detect the basil, ginger, and oakmoss. It isn't miles away from Aesop's lovely Tacit perfume. Suddenly, it's overwhelmingly aromatic and herbal. West is an odd one because it so quickly morphs into a completely different scent after the first few minutes

Fragrantica - On first spritz, West is a bright, effusive, effervescent blast of sunny citrus - it reminds me of the nose tickle I get when I pop the tab of a can of orange soda. There's just a lot going on next - more citrus, this time more rounded; basil and other herbs; and a watery, slightly cloying floral - before the dry down, which, as others have mentioned, is quite nice, and my favorite part of wearing this fragrance. Once West settles into my skin, it matures into a drier, more thoughtful herby-earthy scent that I find both calming and intriguing, and also quite long-lived. I can still detect the citrus, but it hums through the dry down like a faint electrical current. It's interesting to note that the basil really pops where West hits my clothing. I haven't run across a perfume that's almost identical to West, but I'd say it is a distant kissing cousin to Bond No. 9 Coney Island, Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien, and Hierbas de Ibiza

Fragrantica - the more I wear it the more I enjoy it. The citrus at the beginning is a sun-warmed spicy citrus, not a chemical cleaner citrus or a super refreshing sparkling citrus. The spicy ginger mid note is more prominent than the florals which I enjoy. Amber is one of my comfort base notes and the addition of the oakmoss and vetiver give it that little bit of bitter-stink that makes me keep going back for another sniff. I agree this could smell like a dryer sheet as it is a very clean, warm scent.
