Out of the vial I get a whiff of a man's aquatic-type aftershave, which is not unpleasant, but not what I would have expected from this scent given the ingredients. When first applied (on wrist at pulse point) I still get the same aftershave smell, but it's spicy, warmer, less aquatic, with a hint of honey, ginger, and amber. About 2 minutes after application the man's aftershave is gone and in it's place is spiced gingerbread cookies, all the while with a bit of amber tickling my nose. The honey is there, but I think it's more of a vanilla infused kind. An hour or so after application I have a lovely, warm vanilla extract (sans alcohol) scent that is gourmand, but not over powering. Overall, Chergui is a rich, but not overpowering, fragrance. The staying power is good, but not great, and there is very little sillage, which is why I have given this a 4 star rating.
