Eau du Fier is a blend of tar, smoke and fruity sweetness.    Even with these notes, the fragrance is not heavy.  The tar is the main note of the composition and the smoked tea notes meld with the leather notes and are topped with a citrus opening.  An elegant, unusual fragrance.  With notes of bitter orange, osmanthus, salt flower, clove, tea, and birch.  It is an Eau de Toilette and is not available in the United States.

I bought the Annick Goutal "Odd" sampler. Eau du Fier smells very much like the tiny buckskin dolls and toys I played with as a child: smoked leather and yes - fresh tar. Lapsang Souchong tea also smells like buckskin, so yes, smoked tea also.

I took a chance and purchased the the Annick Goutal "Odd" sampler. The Eau du Fier was a pleasant surprise. I've worn it several times and as of yet, sadly, I have not gotten any response to my 'odd n smoky' being. Nevertheless, winter is coming so I'll have more oportunity to spray this one on! :)
